Owned by the New Madrid Historical Museum, the oldest home in New Madrid was built by Abraham Augustine and moved to its present location in order to escape the encroaching waters of the Mississippi River.
Various photography and painting exhibits by local photographers and artists will be held with different themes that rotate throughout the year. We also feature travelling exhibits from prestigious institutions such as the McDougall Center for Photojournalism at the Missouri School of Journalism. The house will also be used as a place to offer workshops and classes. Plans for the future include a photo studio and the establishment of a photography club for area school students.
